Activities
Activities are individually planned to meet the needs of our Service Users. These needs are established from discussions between the Service Users, their families, friends and the care staff.
Active participation including cards, dominoes and bingo etc is encouraged. “Sing Songs” are a much enjoyed activity, with “reminiscence sessions” also taking place regularly. Weekly sessions of “moving to music” helps keep Service Users active and mobile. Entertainment is frequently provided by visiting performers who provide a variety of entertainment.
Library facilities are also available from the local community, with a selection of books and magazines for Service Users to enjoy. Upon admission, all our Service Users are encouraged to continue with their hobbies and past times.
Organised Activities
The care home offers a wide range of activities designed to encourage the Service User to keep mobile, and most importantly take an interest in life.
Staff will encourage and in certain instances, assist the Service User to pursue their hobbies and interests.
Outings
All outings are tailored to suit the Service User's needs and capabilities. Previous care home outings include:
- Driving around the countryside
- Watching a pantomime or play
- Visiting garden centres
- Visiting country pubs
Music / Singsongs
Concerts are held within the home on a regular basis free of charge.
Church Services
The local chapel visits on a monthly basis.
