Company Policy
Ravensworth Care Home is regulated by the ‘Care Quality Commission’ (CQC), and is regularly inspected accordingly. Inspection visits are always unannounced.
Ravensworth Care Home is also a member of the National Care Homes Association. The company is an enlightened, active organisation that responds to, and is responsive to the personal needs of individuals and their families to ensure a total care environment. We are therefore committed to providing the highest standard in quality-controlled residential and social care where the interests of the Service User are safeguarded by personal contracts. Care Plan Review
Once the initial care plan is developed, it will be reviewed on a monthly basis to ensure that the Service User is responding in a satisfactory manner. Adverse reaction to the care plan by the Service User will result in an immediate review by the named carer, manager, senior carer or other members of care staff as necessary.
Family and relatives will be encouraged to participate in the Service User's daily routine as far as is practical, and are invited to monthly formal reviews. Service Users and their relatives are always welcome to chat with care staff if they have any concerns.
All amendments to the care plan will require the authorisation of the manager or senior carer. Certain amendments may require the authorisation of the service user's GP. All amendments to the care plan are recorded in full.
Fire Safety
The care home has a modern fire alarm system fitted, with "Fire Exit Notices" and "Fire Emergency Instruction Notices" displayed in both picture form and in writing at strategic points throughout the care home (as advised by the local Fire Department).
Staff are instructed during induction training on Fire Prevention and Drills Policies. These include use of the fire appliances, evacuation and muster points in addition to raising the fire alarm etc.
Service Users are informed of the emergency procedure during the admission process. A fire exercise is carried out weekly on each shift which ensures all staff and Service Users have a comprehensive understanding of their responsibilities.

We employ numerous systems to ensure the close monitoring of our care services and procedures. Attention to the smallest detail is pivotal to everything that we do.
